Freshman Rianna Romasoc flys on the track. Perhaps not in the way you think. She doesn't sprint but vaults herself into the stratus in the polevault event. At the Ron Kamaka Invite, Romasoc didn't leave anything to chance. She (Romasoc) took the chasing for a mark off the table and achieved the State A standard in only her second competition of the year and set a pace for the other vaulters of the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference and Southern Cal region. 

Things however could have been better. Rianna 'blew through a pole' which is a term vaulters use that means the pole they are using has reached its potential and the smart thing to do is go up a pole in size. However, Romasoc nor her coach expected this to happen and failed to pack a bigger pole. In meets to come, the size and number of poles in Romasoc's bag will be visibly larger.
