Rancho San Diego
Her father, Terrence Campbell was a standout hurdler at Long Beach City College, team mate of the former American Record holder in the 110m hurdles and scholar athlete competing for the University of Utah. Brinley's uncle is the Dean of the Cuyamaca College and 3-time Olympic and Olympic Bronze medalist in the 110m hurdles Tonie Campbell. With big shoes in the family tree, she has her work cut out for her. However, the first year runner for Cuyamaca has not shied from the challenge and has met it head on. In only her first race of the season in the 100mh, Brinley achieved the California Community College State A standard at the Ron Kamaka Invite at Mt. Sac running 15.23. However, only minutes later in the day, Brinley doubled her state guarantee with another State A standard in the grueling 400m hurdle race running 67.07.
Both times placed Brinley in the Top-5 in the state although it being early season. Brinley's personal record is 14.80 in the 100mh so she still has some work to do but with time, school records and championships are looking good for the freshman.
