Sophomore Spotlight: Isabel 'Izzy' Woodhams

Isabel "Izzy" Woodhams #8 this season's co-captain and starting outside hitter has been playing at Cuyamaca for 2 years. Izzy leads in kills this season, with 75 kills and a career total of 160 kills. She also has a career-high of 162 digs in her time here.  She is majoring in Criminal Justice to eventually become a homicide detective or work for the FBI. She plans to continue her academic journey at Arizona State University to complete her degree. Her favorite memory with the team was always getting food and boba after practices. Her advice to someone going to play collegiate volleyball is to make sure that while you are competing you are having fun. A fun fact about Izzy is that she owns a knife collection! Lastly, her favorite quote is Joshua 1:9, "Be Strong and Courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord, your God will be with you wherever you go."  Izzy also received the California Community College Women's Volleyball Coaches Association's CCCWVA All-STATE ACADEMIC TEAM.
