Brian Hiatt-Aleu has built an impressive resume with over 20 years of coaching experience here in San Diego. He is currently entering his 8th season as Head Coach where under his direction the Coyotes have had a winning record every season and have become one of the most consistent and respected soccer programs in Southern California. Over the past 7 seasons Cuyamaca College has not finished lower than 3rd in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference and have advanced three times to the State Playoffs.

In only his 3rd season at the helm, Brian led Cuyamaca College to its first Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Championship in 10 years and the Coyotes advanced to the quarterfinals of State Playoffs. For that 2015 season he was also awarded Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. This past season, the Coyotes won their second PCAC Championship with a record of 9-1-2 and again Brian was awarded with Coach of the Year honors.

Brian is also currently a Head Coach for San Diego Surf one of the most successful youth soccer programs on the west coast. He has also coached for Rebels SC (Olders Program Director), San Diego United SC and Coronado SC (Olders Boys Director). Brian has a long list of accomplishments as a club coach, including 2019 California Regional League Champions with his Rebels SC BU16 team, and 2018 Super Y League National Champions and 2018 Surf Cup College Showcase Super Black Group Champions with his Rebels SC BU14 team. While coaching at Coronado FC Brian’s BU16 team won the State, Regional, and National titles in 2013. That year he also received the Nike Developmental Coach of the Year award.

While Boys Varsity Head Coach at Coronado High School Brian had unprecedented success, winning 6 CIF titles and 1 CIF Regional title. He was awarded CIF San Diego Section Coach of the Year in 2013 and 2015.

Brian played collegiately at California Baptist University and Point Loma Nazarene College. He went on to play professionally in the Australian Premier League and then returned to play locally for San Diego Blaze of the Southwestern Indoor Soccer League and San Diego Pumitas of the National Premier Soccer League.

Brian is also an Instructor in the Exercise Science Department at both Cuyamaca College and Grossmont College, where he has taught a variety of courses, including Soccer, Cardio-Fitness and Nutrition, Weight-training, Basketball, and Tennis.

Brian and his wife Nicole have 2 children, Hannah and Noah.
