Women's Cross Country Places Second at State
The Cuyamaca women's cross country team capped off their season with a runner-up finish at the state championship in Fresno.
 
Two Coyotes earned All-American honors for their performances. Alexia Thiros finished in 7th place finish on the individual leaderboard with a time of 18:41, while Marleen Aranda covered the 3.1 mile Woodward Park course in 19:01, good for 13th place.
 
Annette Jimenez finished in 19th at 19:13, with Courtney Clifford just behind in 22nd at 19:18. Kyley Inman was the final scorer for the Coyotes, finishing 38th with a time of 19:40. Hannah Running (21:23, 124th) and Hannah Lockman (21:28, 125th) also crossed the finish line for Cuyamaca.
 
The team finished with 95 points, just 2 behind Mt. SAC. The Coyote top five actually posted the fastest overall time, with a total of 1:35:55 -- 14 seconds ahead of Mt. SAC.
 
This year's Cuyamaca team is the first in 16 years to win a PCAC title, and to medal at the state meet.
