Sophomore outside hitter and team captain, Diamond Hollis was born January 17 and is majoring in Political Science. Her parents are Michelle Jones and Quentin Hollis. She is sister to Scooter Hollis and Asia Jones, and proud auntie to Lina and Zara Butcher.
Originally from Kentucky, Diamond attended Bowling Green High School (Bowling Green, Ky.) where she was captain of her varsity softball team, captain on her volleyball teams, a member of the Beta Club, and a member of the KEY Club. She moved to San Diego and attended Granite Hills High School (El Cajon, Ca.) where she continued success as Most Valuable Player, received First Team All-League and Academic Honors in volleyball, was captain of her Varsity Volleyball team, and was Co-Captain of the basketball team. She was also a member of the National Honor Society in Kentucky and California and was a member of the track and field team as well.
She played club for Bravo Volleyball Club (Bowling Green, Ky.), Audubon Volleyball Association (Owensboro, Ky.), and Coast Volleyball Club (San Diego, Ca.).
While in attendance at Cuyamaca College, Diamond is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, on the Grossmont and Cuyamaca College President’s Lists, and returns as a second year captain of the volleyball team.
When Diamond isn’t playing volleyball she is sketching, painting, or sculpting. She loves seafood, and sweet tea. Her favorite color is green.
