Cuyamaca College is proud to bring back the Lady Coyotes to our campus. Under the new leadership of Sydney Gilbert. Sydney was born and raised in San Diego, playing club soccer in East County for San Diego United for 10 years. Gilbert was prepped at West Hills High School in Santee, where she was a 4 year Varsity member of the soccer and track team. While at West Hills, sh helped lead the soccer team to a league championship and CIF finals. 

After West Hills, Gilbert attended California State University, Northridge to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology while playing Division 1 soccer for the Matadors. While at CSUN, she was named to the All-Big West team twice, a member of the All-Big West Academic team, and was Female Scholar Athlete of the Year. She graduated as the Wolfson Scholar for the College of Health and Human Development, awarded to the top graduating senior among the college and its subdisciplines. 

After graduation, Gilbert received her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist License while also coaching club and high school soccer in the East County community where she was prepped.
