2018-19 Men's Cross Country Take Second Place at Brubaker Invitational

The men's cross country team finished second at one of the most competitive invitationals in Southern California.  The Brubaker Invitational  was won by the state's top ranked team, Mt. SAC.  Cuyamaca won a close battle with San Bernadino Valley for second, winning on a tie-breaker.  By virtue of their performance, the Cuyamaca team has now moved up to number eight in the state rankings.

The team was led by the second place finish of Kibrom Elias.  His time of 20:39 was the fastest for him over the four-mile community college distance.  Awol Hussen also finished in the top ten with his ninth place time of 21:13.  Ethan Lambrecht ran his strongest race in his freshman season with a 16th place finish.

The ladies team also competed and finished 11th as a team.  The team was led by Courtney Clifford with a strong 9th place finish in a time of 20:04. 

The cross country team next competes in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Championships of Saturday, October 20.  The event will be held at Cal State San Bernadino.
