COYOTES OPEN PCAC CONFERENCE PLAY WITH WIN OVER PALOMAR

Rancho San Diego, CA

The Cuyamaca College Men's Basketball team continued their impressive preseason showing with a big win over conference rivals Palomar. The Coyote men outscored the Comets in both halves with a strong showing from a talented group of returners, Xavier Rubio, Sergio Franso, AZ Simpson and Patrick Brinkman.

The four sophomores combined, accounted for 63 of the team's final 81 points scored in a very exciting and technically played game. Completing the quintet, freshman Jamier Sykes, contributed 9 points to the team's winning effort and continues to play well this season.

Playing in front of one of the largest crowds of the season, the Coyotes played loose and relaxed with skillful playmaking and accurate passing to set up high percentage shots for goals. The Cuyamaca team kept the Palomar team on their heels the entire game running up the score to a ten shot lead for most of the second half.

Coach Rob Wojtkowski's experience, planning and preparation for this season is evident as his Coyote men continue to play great basketball and eclipse previous season scoring metrics.
