Cuyamaca College celebrated its 21st Wheelchair Basketball Game on October 24, 2018. This annual event was created in 1998 and has been ongoing to celebrate Disabilities Awareness Month every October.

The Cuyamaca College Men's Basketball Team and various wheelchair athletes from San Diego wheelchair basketball teams faced off with each other in this action-packed game. All able-bodied athletes and any spectator that wanted to play was put in the athletic wheelchairs. Teams were then equally mixed to level the playing court.  The wheelchair athletes were so accommodating to new players; they made sure everyone got their hands on the ball and was given opportunities to shoot!

Along with members of the men's basketball team, staff members Mary Asher Fitzpatrick, Ray Reyes, John Escobedo, and Veronica Corral were brave enough to get on the court in a wheelchair and play in the game.
