The Coyotes faced another "survival" game in the Irvine Valley Tournament, this time against PCAC south division rival Imperial Valley. Cuyamaca started out sluggish, spotting IVC an 11-2 lead in the first 5 minutes, but "woke up" and started scoring inside and playing better defense. The Coyotes had a chance to open up a big lead in the second half, but they missed 9 layups to keep the score close. In the end, the Coyotes won, 60-58. The Coyotes were led by Eric Patten (16 pts), Jon Irving (12 pts), Spencer Smith (11 pts, 4asts), James Miller (5 rebs, 3asts), Shai Stevenson (5 rebs, 3asts, 3stls) and Robert Harris (4 rebs, 3blks).
