Cuyamaca hosted San Diego City for the first game of PCAC play. The Coyotes would need to handle City's pressure defense and take good shots to control the tempo. Although Cuyamaca did a relatively good job with City's full court pressure, they hoisted 16 bad shots according to Head Coach Rob Wojtkowski's calculations. The Coyotes trailed by 10 at half and could only cut the deficit to 7 points at one point in the second half, losing 85-66. The Coyotes were led by Spencer Smith (30 pts), Tarik Downs (10 pts, 7 rebs) and Calvin Harris (8 rebs).
