Cuyamaca traveled to SD Mesa hoping to improve on their defense. Mission accomplished. During the first 12 minutes of the game, the Coyotes contested 80% of their opponent's shots and led 33-4. After a half court three point make by Spencer Smith (31 pts, 5 rebs), the Coyotes led 40-21.  In the second half, the Coyotes never let their lead dip below nine points and won 77-62. Besides Smith, the Coyotes were led by Eric Patten (13 pts, 14 rebs), Tarik Downs (10 pts, 7rebs, 3asts), Chi Akamiro (6 asts), Calvin Harris (6 pts), Jeron Satterfield (6 pts) and Robert Harris (6 rebs).
