Aguirre Goal Helps Spartans to Stay Undefeated in Conference Play

On Tuesday, the first place MiraCosta men's soccer team hosted the Cuyamaca College Coyotes in an important conference match that could have potential playoff implications.  Both teams played confident and looked primed for the post season in a tightly contested 90 minutes of soccer.

Cuyamaca scored first in the 55th minute to take a lead in the battle for first place. MiraCosta was quick to answer, however, when sophomore Jose Aguirre earned and scored a penalty kick in the 63rd minute.  The remainder of the game was evenly matched, with both teams having chances to score the game winning goal but coming up short.

With the tie MiraCosta remains undefeated in conference play, and in first place, with a 5-0-1 record.

The Spartans will next be in action on Tuesday, October 25th, when they host Palomar College for a 3PM kickoff.
